Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Blustery

Every direction I walk snow smacks me in the face.
Today we had a blizzard.
Snow all day ehr day.
Robot irritations in Engineering class.
No Tuesday nap.
Computer crashing at work before I could save.
On paper, my day looked bad.
But in all reality, it wasn't.
Friends and buildings to stay warm in made my day turn out just fine.

Winter Attire

I love summer. I love tank tops, sunglasses, and overalls.
I love winter. I love scarves, sweaters, and boots.
I thought I wouldn't like Pullman because of the weather.
Little did I know how fun it is to bundle up :)

Fun dinner with people tonight at Northside.
Went over to Stimson to do some math with Conner.
Let him borrow my plaid scarf. He's from California and
has always secretly wanted to wear a scarf, but I guess
people in Cali don't really wear scarves. Glad I could help the
fella out haha.
Grocery shopping with Paul. Epic temporary tatoos.
Finished the pre-lab for chem two days before it is due.
Definitely feeling accomplished.

Star Trekin Across the Universe

Back to good 'ol Pullman.
My family stood outside and waved to me as we drove off.
They are so cute. I can't wait till I get to come back in 3 weeks.
When I got back to my room I didn't leave it except to go downstairs for food.
Days like this are weird.
I feel like I should go out and do something, but its foggy and gross outside,
and everyone is doing homework anyways.
I organized my mess of things. I brought back way too much stuff so I had to figure out where to put it.
I have approximately 11 scarves up here now. Slightly ridiculous, but oh so necessary.
Oh and I watched Desperate Housewives.
haha.

Engagement Photos

My first engagement photo shoot.
I absolutely loved it.
Two of my favorite high school teachers getting married,
and I got to hang out with them for the morning and take their pictures.
Probably the best way I could start my last day home.

Black Friday: Red Room

First time going to the red room tonight.
Before we headed over there we spent some time in a nice little coffee shop listening to a darling couple play some acoustic songs.
They were fantastic, and so in love.
The Meteors at the red room were great.
I got a wonderful birthday hug from Stephen Miller.
He thought I was Carly Strecker lol.
Shannon and Stephen sounded fantastic,
the only thing that wasn't fantastic was the lady taking pictures. She wouldn't stop. It was like a strobe light was on for the entire performance.
She kept being awkward and took pictures of the crowd, so I decided to have some fun.
Everytime she would take a picture in our direction I would make a funny face, but not towards the camera.
I would just keep looking forward, but would make a funny face. Carly Strecker is a genious.
Camera lady kept trying to snipe me, but I was always ready with a new face, and she was terrible at hiding.
Overall a fun night;
my second to last in the tri-cities :(

Merry Day of Thanks!

Woke up and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.
Just like I always do.
Jessi and I enjoyed pumpkin muffins and coffee and watched Eric Hutchinson do his thing on the telly.
She had to leave eventually,
but then the cousins came!
We always know we're in for tons of laughs when the O'Malley's come over.
I love that family :)
Sure enough, we played telephone pictionary and the laughs started coming.
Conner and Taylor Ray's first kiss turned into turtle man and a girl with machette hands.
Christmas music all year round turned into a dead person.
Asia turned into a intense train crash.
A box of chocolates turned into tomatoes burning from the sun, fresh from the toilet.
Priceless.
We linked up three computers to play a crazy shooting game.
After we all killed our own dumb selves, and Conner dominated, we headed down to eat the main meal.
Thanksgiving dinner was delicious and hilarious.
What a funny family I have.
Sledding after dinner; dad hit a rough jump and will be bedridden for a while.
Paul and I went out for round two.
I felt like a little kid in the snow again.
Jumping on trees, throwing snow footballs, and climbing up impossible snow drifts.
We eventually went back to my house for some cider and random chit chat.
Overall a fantastic Thanksgiving :)

Best Friends Reunited :)

Hugs, hugs, and more hugs.
That's all I could do when I saw Jessi.
Hug the crap out of her.
Not literally.
But maybe.
I actually didn't ask.
We went to Red Robin to see some of the gang.
It was so nice to see old friends again.
I forgot how much I've missed them.
When we got back we went in the hot tub for some soakin.
I decided it might be fun to do a snow angel in my bikini.
It felt like nice fluff initially but instantly turned freezing,
and when I got back in the tub I felt like I was on fire.
I somehow convinced Jessi to do it too,
and then convinced Meryn to do it face down.
So entertaining.
Movie and popcorn time,
then a late night of talking and catching up.
I miss having best friend sleepovers.
I miss having my best friend with me all the time.
The time we do get together now is so special,
and I appreciate it so much more.
I already can't wait until winter break,
because these last few days have gone by so fast.
Thanksgiving break is already nearly over.

This one time in first grade...

...when we were learning about tobacco.
Oh wait, that probably wasn't first grade.

I could listen to Meryn's Shakira voice all day.
Wait, no I couldn't.
It's may be the worst voice in the entire world.
But I don't mind it now,
because I'll sure miss it when I go back to school.

[Blizzard Warning]

Got an email from WSU today alerting me that the Palouse has a Blizzard effect in effect from 7 PM this evening to 10 AM Tuesday.
I'm so glad we got out of there before that madness.
It wasn't that much better in the good 'ol Tri-Cities though.
At least 6 inches of snow covered my car today;
unfortunately turning it into a Ford Probe.
Walked to Starbucks and had a date with mama-jama.
It's crazy how different hanging out with my family is from talking to them on the phone.
It's crazy better :)
I made some rock solid split pea soup.
Actually it wasn't rock solid,
because it was soup.
But it tasted pretty darn good.
Paul came over and we made an Albys trip to get snow ice cream fixins.
We ate our ice cream and watched Top Gear with the family.
What a good night.

Stickin Around Home

It's nice just to lounge around with my family at home.
I appreciate it so much more now that I don't get that comfort everyday.

YUM

[My house warming gift from Meryn]
...
First of all I need to discuss my cat frustration.
As I walked into the house yesterday, I saw my cat, we made eye contact,
and then she ran away.
This morning my mom brought Pepper in to my room and put her on my bed.
She ran away.
My dad didn't know my mom had already tried, so he came in 15 minutes later with the cat.
She ran away.
She's just upset that I left her in the first place.
Yep, that must be it ;)
...
Cooking dinner with mom,
winter coat shopping,
visited Nick at work,
hung out with bunches of peoples I haven't seen in forever.
 I love my friends :)
...
Fun night full of chit chat and being bonkers with lil sis.
Our randomness when we're together just isn't the same over the phone.
I've missed this craziness :)
...

And I'm back.

Real dinner. Top Gear. Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Constant laughter.
It doesn't feel weird to be home.
It feels just the same.
Which is how I like it :)

Black and White

...
Made this real fast at work today.
Might make some changes to it later, but I liked the lyrics.
It's so weird packing as if I'm going on a 10 day vacation when I'm going home.
Usually I do this kind of packing when I'm leaving home.
Black and White.
Completely the opposite.
...
Kelly played on our rug tonight.
So entertaining :)

Once in a lifetime doesn't happen again.

Late night chem studyin in the library.
We da we da best.
Ate a spoonful of cinnamon at young life tonight.
Totally beat the guy I was up against.
My eyes burned a bit, but other than that...no it was straight up nasty.
Tomorrow is all that is between me and home.
My anticipation is undescribable.
I'm going to walk in the door, hug my family, grab my cat, and go sit on every bed/couch/chair in the house and smell every room.
Sounds weird, but that's what's going down.
I forget the smell of home.
I forget what lounging on the couch feels like.
I miss my kitty's annoying meows and cute faces.
...
Once in a lifetime doesn't happen again.
Tyrone lyrics.
He's so right.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

I once dated a weather man, we talked up a storm.

...
This was definitely one of the scariest storms...ever.
Wind, rain, hail, lighting, and of course thunder.
Paul took me home last night and we drove the normal way we always drive.
Bam, tree in the way.
We turn around.
Bam, another tree in the way.
How in the world am I going to get home you might ask?
Paulypants knows his Pullman thank goodness.
Home and safe, I listened to sirens, wind, thunder, and hail into the night.
I love storms.
...
3 days.

4 more days...

Wow. What a huge difference from when we first moved in.
Our walls don't look like blank hostpital walls anymore.
We've slowly added until we've ended up with an eclectic mess of color.
I love it. The old album covers. The post-it quote corner. My posters I made. Pictures strung up by my bed.
It's funny I actually do call this room home.
It doesn't even phase me.
I told Ethan I was going home Saturday night last weekend and he asked me why the heck I would do that. He'd assumed my "Tri-Cities" home.
All I meant was my cozy little room in the middle of Pullman.
I feel like I'm growing up.
Oh don't get me wrong, I miss my real home and the people in it dearly,
but I've made the transition of moving out of the house quite smoothly.
It's nice not to be homesick anymore. Just homesick for the people.
4 more days :)

A penny for my thoughts, oh no I’ll sell them for a dollar

Went on a run in the fog today.
It's so strange when you see nothing 10 feet in front of you.
You assume you'll be enveloped in that nothing when you run 10 feet, but it just constantly stays that far in front of you no matter how far you run.
I feel like that analogy is applicable to many things in life.
Moving forward, but no progress.
Doing homework all day, but still having an abundance left when I go to bed.

3OH!3

Woke up to a wonderful breakfast from Tal's mom.
After we chowed down we headed to Cabella's.
Holy Smokes. Camo and Flannel everywhere. I felt a bit out of place in my grandpa sweater with umbrella buttons.
Oh well, it was quite an interesting store I'll give it that.
Not really a hunting kinda gal lol
Next was the mall. Forever21. That's more up my alley.
Came out with 2 hats, a headband, cardigan, floral top, and leggings.
Sucess? I think yes.
Got a surprising text that informed me that the cougs were winning the game.
We all freaked out and headed to Sears.
They wouldn't change the channel for us, so we had to make the trek back to Tal's.
COUGS WERE VICTORIOUS!
Grant, William, Katie, and Kristen came and picked me up and we headed to Dicks.
It's become a pre-concert tradition :)
Got in line, got our X's, then ventured into the sold out Knitting Factory with so much anticipation we didn't know what to do with ourselves.
The opening bands were actually pretty good, and I loved Hellogoodbye.
Beards, glasses, cardigans, buttons, stripes, and flannel.
Those were my boys :)
3OH!3.
Oh my.
Wolves with lasers shooting out of their eyes.
So confusing, but so awesome.
They were great.
Didn't beat Anberlin,
but there's something cool about watching people you've only heard through your ipod or on the radio.
That was the problem though. They sounded exactly the same as they do on my ipod and the radio.
Anberlin, Needtobreathe, Tyrone Wells.
They all sounded better.
Still a good show though.
Hit up the gas station after the concert.
Will and I bought the nastiest looking hot dog that the guy had cooking.
That's how we asked for it.
"Can we have that gross looking one?"
It was cheeseburger mashed up into the shape of a hot dog.
I wanna say it was gross. But it was sorta good too. Don't ask. You'll just have to try it ;)
Good music and short naps on the way home.
What a night.
I love music, and I love my friends.
Goodnight.

Poker Face. Joker Face.

...
Another bored creation.
Found the definition from Urban Dictionary.
Couldn't not use it lol.
...
HOW TO WIN POKER

1. Partner with someone who has no idea what they are doing.
2. Every once and a round, don't look at your cards and bet a buttload of money. No one can call that poker face.
3. While everyone else is being serious, make piles out of the chips and then take turns knocking them down.
4. If you have a face card. Bet.
5. Go all in at least 3 times.

Carlis and I did work.
We are the poker champs.
No one saw it coming :)

Gone. Like Elvis and his mom.

All the gorgeous leaves are falling.
I miss them already.

Tuesday, November 09, 2010

4th grade.

I love writing letters.
I went to town tonight.
One of my favorite parts of writing letters is stamping them.
I use the stamp I made way back in 4th grade.
So cute :)
Oh I got to skype with Matt Polvs tonight.
Miss that boy.

Ready for a Break.

Home. Home is wherever I'm with you.
I can't wait for Thanksgiving break.
It's creepin up, and I'm ready to make my first trip home since I've been here.

Happy Birthday Teea! :D

...
Tia Teea's birthday was today. I love this girl so much. I'm so blessed to have her as such a good friend.
...
She walked out of the bathroom at Zoe's with a toilet seat cover around her neck and acted like it was the most normal thing ever.
I love Teea Bunker.

Tyrone Wells

Dicks for dinner.
Davenport for exploring.
10 one dollar bills into the pin hole for parking.
We designnated our area. Very front middle/right.
Sat down and explained to Teea that I'm experienced with this stuff.
If you don't sit between acts, it's hard to last to the end.
Teea: "Wait, how long is the concert?"
Me: "It'll probably go till 11."
Teea: "WHAT!? That's 3 hours!"
Me: "I know but by the end, you don't want it to end. Trust me. You'll just want him to keep singing, and you won't care that you've been standing 3 hours."
...
3 hours later
...
Teea: "Whoa you were so right."
The opening opening act was okay, but Andrew Belle was awesome.
He has such a unique voice. I'd heard his songs before, but now I'm hooked.
Finally, Tyrone Wells.
Like so many artists I've seen live, he sounded even better live.
He sang 3 songs with his wife and they were beyond adorable.
There was a little girl in front of me who couldn't have been more than 5 years old.
Her mom was holding her and they sang some of the songs to each other.
This little girl knew every word! It was beyond adorable.

Before Tyrone sang this song completely acoustic, he said two things.
When you die, there's really only two things you should really care about.
1. Are you ready to see God?
2. Have you loved the people in your life?
Those are the only two things that matter. After you've died, it won't matter that you finally bought that BMW or graduated from some prestigious college. They aren't coming with you to heaven. Or in some cases. Hell. You want to look back and know that your life had meaning. I knew Tyrone was a christian, but he isn't in the christian music industry. He's just a christian doin his thing. It made me love him that much more that he would put himself out there and talk about his faith. We met with him afterwards and he was just as genuine talking afterwards as he was on stage. We got our Tyrone hugs, pictures, and autographs, and went on our way. In complete awe.

Headed to McDonalds for our apple pies, discussing the hilarious drunks we encountered while in line to meet Tyrone.
Got up to the drive-thru and were informed that it was going to take 12 minutes to bake our pies.
Long story short, we held up about 5 cars at McDonalds for 12 minutes. Funny, but wrong. haha.
They were so worth it though. Cider and candle wax. Just what a pie should taste like right?
Broken hangers, photo albums, and other randomness concluded our extremely incredible night.
I love girl weekends :)

My Dearest/Craziest Boo Bear :)

...
All I could think of all day was that my sissy was coming.
The moment I opened Paul's door and saw Mern standing outside, I kinda freaked out and we embraced in a huge hug.
So much randomness commenced after that. We played some video games and I taught her a basic swing dance step.
Golly that girl is the silliest. I've missed her face.
We walked to Hillside, ate some nummy salmon and scalloped potatoes.
Had a fabulous talk underneath some trees on the stone bench.
Went to watch us get dominated by UW in volleyball.
Then sadly had to say goodbye.
Can't wait to see you at Thanksgiving Mare Bare!! :D
...
Went to see Due Date.
Stinking funny movie.
That is all.
haha.
...

Thursday, November 04, 2010

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

That's all I could think when I got this letter today.
Golly I miss my buds from Albertsons.
They're just the cutest :)

Wednesday, November 03, 2010

I got a fever.

...and the only prescription is MORE GAGA!
Yup. My first YL skit. And of course I was Gaga.
It was a blast, all the skits were hilarious.
My Resonate Village made me a cake tonight.
It hit the spot.
I have such great friends :)

The Big One Nine.

I had a fantastic birthday today.
Thank you everyone who made it so special :)
